DHS Leadership

Director

The Director of the Department of Human Services is appointed by the Governor to lead a staff of more than 6,900 and manage a biennial budget of more than $16 billion in state and federal funds. In addition, the DHS Director serves in an advisory capacity as a member of the Governor's Cabinet.

Rique Robb

With deep roots in Nevada and a lifelong devotion to public service, Rique Robb became Interim Director of the Nevada Department of Human Services in November 2025. Beginning her career with the department in 2012, Rique has been instrumental in driving initiatives that enhance support for individuals with disabilities, aging Nevadans, and their families across the state. In 2017, Rique became Deputy Administrator of the department’s Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD), overseeing programs and services, which included Nevada’s Early Intervention Services, the Autism Treatment Assistance Program, as well Planning Advocacy and Community programs, where she guided advocacy initiatives and community programs that support the well-being of Nevadans across the lifespan. With more than 35 years of experience and dedicated service to children, aging Nevadans, and individuals with disabilities, Rique offers a wealth of knowledge, steadfast leadership, and passionate advocacy. In June 2025, Rique became the Administrator of ADSD, and her proven leadership soon led to Gov. Joe Lombardo to entrust her with guiding the DHS as its director.

Shannon Litz, Deputy Director - ProgramsShannon Litz

Shannon Litz is the Department’s Deputy Director for Programs. She joined the Department of Health and Human Services in 2019 where she has worked as a Legislative Liaison, Management Analyst and Public Information Officer. Previously she served as a program officer and policy analyst in then-Governor Brian Sandoval’s office. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno and worked in Northern Nevada as a journalist for 14 years.
