Nevada SNAP Program Granted Waiver For Elko Recipients

The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) applied for, and was granted, an emergency waiver to assist the Elko community in recovering from the recent weather related emergencies in the area by the USDA Food and Nutrition Services.

The waiver extends the deadline from 10 to 30 days for families in the Elko area who experienced flooding and/or structural damage to contact DWSS to request additional SNAP (Food Stamp) benefits to replace any lost or damaged food. That deadline is now March 24, 2017 and the number to call is (775) 684-7200.
