IDEA Part C Office
Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part H of Public Law (99-457), early intervention legislation passed in the fall of 1986, and was crafted with a remarkable vision - a vision of comprehensive, interagency, multidisciplinary, family-centered, and community-based services accessible to all infants and toddlers with disabilities and to many who are at risk for disabilities.
Nevada Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities
The Nevada Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (NGCDD) engages in advocacy, system's change and capacity building activities for people with developmental disabilities and their families in order to promote equal opportunity, self-determination, and community inclusion.
Grants Management Unit (GMU)
The Grants Management Unit is an administrative unit within the Department of Health and Human Services, Director's Office, that administers grants to local, regional, and statewide programs serving Nevadans. Its mission is to help families and individuals in Nevada reach their highest level of self-sufficiency by supporting the community agencies that serve them through engagement, advocacy and resource development.
Office of Minority Health and Equity
The mission of the Nevada Office of Minority Health and Equity is to improve the quality of health care services for members of minority groups; to increase access to health care services; and to seek ways to provide education, and to address, treat and prevent diseases and conditions that are prevalent among minority populations. Through the 81st Legislative Session State agencies were tasked with identifying Diversity and Inclusion Liaisons to support this effort.
Tribal Liaisons
The State of Nevada, Department of Health and Human Services is committed to partnering with the 27 Tribes within the state through a Tribal Consultation Process Agreement. This coordination establishes and strengthens ties and relationships with the Tribal Governments as well as provides education and outreach. There is a network of Liaisons who represent each of the DHHS Divisions.
Office of Analytics
Under the technical guidance of the State Biostatistician, the mission of the Office of Analytics is to create an environment promoting proactive analytics which drive policy and decision-making across the Department of Health and Human Services.
Fund for a Resilient Nevada
The Fund for a Resilient Nevada (FRN) is administered by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and is specific to the State's portion of opioid litigation recoveries. As the settlements are outlined, the State of Nevada will receive yearly distributions for the next 20 years. One of the Department’s responsibilities is the development of the statewide needs assessment and a statewide plan to identify priorities related to addressing opioid-related risk, harms and impacts using a data-driven and evidence-based approach.
