Data Tools for Decision-Making
OOA uses mostly state-based Data Sources to create dashboards and reports.
Dashboards display key metrics related to current status trends and demographics at regular intervals and are created to support quick decision-making. They are formatted to be interactive, visual (charts, graphs, filters), often web-based for use by operational teams, managers, and executives needing quick insights.
Reports present detailed data analysis, findings, and context over a specific period and/or topic. They are a structured document (typically a PDF), and include narrative, tables, charts, and appendices, and can occasionally include recommendations. They are used by analysts, stakeholders, and researchers, and reports are generally required by oversight bodies, such as the Nevada Legislature, another Nevada Public Body, a federal agency, a court, or the Nevada Governor's Office.
